This was Braxton's first season playing baseball and I am so very proud of him! He joined the Whitesox team which the coaches and most of the players were all from our ward and one was in Braxton's same kindergarten class. Originally I signed him up to play on a t-ball city team through the Rec. Center but then we heard about the Snow Cyn League and who the coaches were and that it was coach-pitch, so we switched last minute. I wasn't too sure how Braxton would do, he and Troy have practiced a lot of batting, but when it came to catching and fielding he seemed to shy away from the ball. The first game he was running EVERYWHERE! In fact, his coach had to kind of explain that when the ball goes to Rt. field and you are playing short-stop, it's ok to let the Rt. fielder go after the ball and you stay in this area (Coach Rob is drawing a little square in the dirt with his shoe as he is saying this), But as in any little kid sport the fun of it is watching the entire team swarm after the ball! Braxton did well and never seems afraid of the ball at all and had some really great hits. This was a great experience for him to get a feel for the game and to start learning some sportsmanship. We have been to a couple St. George RoadRunner games in the past 2 weeks and have had a blast with the kids, last Friday they had fireworks which Tanner did NOT enjoy at all, "too noisy", but any chance he could get he would go give 'Vee-Dub' a big high-five! The first game we were cold, and the second we roasted, next time we will go after the sun goes down!!
